We, the members of DISCO, promise to create a safe and welcoming environment where every person is treated with kindness, care, and consideration.
We strive to build a community where everyone feels valued and respected. We promise to give grace as we learn together and acknowledge that we are all different. We will strive to co-exist and understand each other's differences.
We will work together to create a positive and inclusive environment where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves. We will not tolerate any discrimination, hate, vulgarity, or violence of any kind.
We will strengthen our community while being good communicators about our needs and feelings, and equally good listeners. We promise to try our best to communicate effectively and respectfully with each other and take accountability for our actions.
We understand that all teachers have the students' best interests at heart, and will teach, guide, and assist accordingly. We will not tolerate any form of bullying, including verbal, physical, or emotional abuse. Teachers, assistants, and aids will exhibit trustworthy behaviors and be safe adults for all children.
We understand that appearance and dress can be an outward expression of our inner selves and encourage everyone to dress in a manner that is comfortable for themselves. We do, however, ask that all members please refrain from wearing anything that may have an offensive or vulgar image or slogan out of respect for families with small children.
We promise to treat the church building* with respect, and to not litter. We are grateful for the opportunity to use this building and will treat it with care. We will leave the building in the same state as we entered it, including taking out trash, wiping down surfaces, and turning off all lights before leaving.
By agreeing to this code of conduct, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone can feel safe and valued.
At DISCO, we reserve the right to ask families not to return if they cannot abide by our code of conduct.
